Jesus is King, Jesus is The Christ but Jesus is not The God.
Jesus worships God. Calling Jesus God is saying he is not the Christ. It is Anti-Christ. Jesus is The Christ and Christ is a mediator between God and Man. The Bible says he is in the likeness of Adam. Adam was not God but in the image of God Jesus is and all those obedient to God are in his image.

I guess that Jesus …
I guess that Jesus didn’t prevent his followers to bow down because it was permitted to show respect to others by bowing and felling down.
But after the prophet Muhammad had come, bowing down was prevented except for God.
And it becomes a meaning of worshiping only.

bowing down for someone in the past didn’t mean worshiping necessarily
It is mentioned in Quran that the parents and brothers of the prophet Joseph bowed down towards him,
as means of respect not as worshiping.
Allah ordered the angels to bow down for Adam not to worship his but to show respect.
