In Mahou Negima Magi, Could someone explain to me how are Asuna and Negi connected?

I have the understanding that his mother is the queen, but how does asuna fit into the equation and also, how is it that the war took place 20 yrs earlier but asuna is still only 15?

yeah, the age is puzzling me. especially the fact that negi have a sister. how old is the sister, since it seems as if asuna is already 5 when nagi n the queen married….so that left only 10 years for negi

asuna is a twilight princess, though i dont know wether asuna is related with the queen (erika, isn it?) but i do remember that age in the magical world is diffferent (they live till 300+).

still, asuna is insrtumental in helping negi restore peace, i think.
