Yeah I didn’t like their designs, same goes for Planet Killer and the Blackstone Fortresses. I really can’t stand the EU making overpowered weapons to one faction.
The DS2 was incomplete and the Rebels were aware of it, thus they were trying to destroy it before it was finished. Pay in mind the DS2 has shields that could withstand planet busters, and those can take a lot.

As for the galaxy gun and sun crusher, as well as every over-powered POS in star wars, their design lacks creativity. Apparently SW geeks don’t get it… the problem with over-building an idea is that so much is invested in 1 over-huge POS, and as in both death star stations, it hardly takes much to destroy them and then all is lost.
DS2 incomplete? I guess u can chalk THAT up to another of its weaknesses then.
