Fire proof paint doesn’t exist
Well if ever there was a debate that you could but fire proof paint I think we finally put that one to rest.
Having used my new cast iron chiminea extensively since we bought it I can tell you that even the most heat resistant paint definitely is not fire proof.
It’s common sense really, if paint gets too hot it flakes off and needs replacing. I mean you can get heat ‘resistant’ paint up to 300c or so, but fire proof? No.
So as I learnt I need to keep giving my chiminea a few licks of paint after every few uses to keep it looking respectable.
