Why do people think that JESUS was born in December and there were only 3 wise men, when a simple study shows?

1) JESUS was not born on Dec 25.
Nimrod was, and since he is the person that supposedly became the sun-god after he died, that is why the sun-god was born on that date in every culture
2) There were not only 3 wise men, The BIBLE tells of 3 treasures, but those were not just gifts from strangers. They were HIS inheritance from Daniel, being delivered by Babylonian astronomers. After waiting for hundreds of years to deliver it, and knowing that they had to cross areas were thieves stayed, they would have been fools to take such treasures without many guards.

1)Your right,Jesus wasn’t born on Dec. 25, this is simply the day that his coming 2 earth is celebrated…
2)Yes,there could hav been over 5000 wisemen, but since this would be hard to put on a manger scene most manger scenes hav 3 wisemen as a symbol of the 3 gifts. Unfortunately many Christians believe that there were only 3 wisemen,as this is what they see,as many Christians are too lazy to research everything in their Bible.

I understand my answer wont be chosen as best, because on questions like this the asker usually chooses an answer that is most like there own, but,i wanted to inform you that well informed Christians are not idiots as you seem to believe.

Regardless of who was born when… ANY STUDY BASED ON THE BIBLE TEXT reveals that the who idea is a scam of historical proportions!

The 3 or so many Eastern Astrologers, Soothsayers, Wise Men, or what have you that came to pay homage to the Baby God Jesus Christ were practicing a “sin” that the Priestly Bible writers made it punishable by death, when caught! But since these Wise Guys were looking for Jesus in the stars, it is OK. They can always break the rules in a Holy cause! These Magic Kings were a bunch of morons! They came all the way from a distant “Eastern” land directly to the Royal Palace of King Herod the alleged Roman client king of the Jews to ask him candidly, “where is the newborn king of the Jews? For we have seen his star in the East, and so on…” BTW, this ALREADY BORN KING OF THE JEWS is the rightful King of the Jews, NOT YOU! This was the announcement at the birth of Jesus Christ, too.

Luke 2:10-11 (NIV) But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid* (*except all the Jewish children under 2 years of age! They will be slaughtered the Bible way without any mercy!). I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people* (*except for all the Jewish children under 2 years of age! After enjoying a divine copulation with the Blessed Virgin Mary, God the Holy Ghost, aka "The COMFORTER" was still recovering and couldn’t possibly comfort the grieving mothers –Mat 2:16-18!). Today in the town of David A (one) SAVIOR has been born to you* (*Jews); he is Christ the Lord* (*this is just one of them! anybody dying before his Crucifixion goes to Hell. Muslims claim that Mohammed is another one, but more of a prophet. This glitch in the Bible allows for more than just “A” Savior to be born).

The Gospel writers say that God in Heaven had to protect the Baby God the Son Jesus Christ on Earth so he told the Magic Kings not to go back to King Herod, but to sneak out of Judea without telling anybody in spite of the fact that the 3 Kings gave their word of honor to return back to check with King Herod. King Herod got very upset and sent his troops with the order to slaughter all the Jewish baby boys up to 2 years of age. The angel told the Jews not to be afraid, but it turned out to be a very sadistic joke! In modern Christian theology dead stem cells, aborted fetuses, and children under the “Age of Accountability,” go straight to Heaven to be with Jesus when they die.

God comes up in a dream to Saint Joseph and tells him to wake up and take the baby Christ and scram by burro to the forbidden land of Egypt over 300 miles away in the middle of the night. The Jews were not supposed to return to Egypt ever again!

Jeremiah 42:18-19 (NIV) This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: ‘As my anger and wrath have been poured out on those who lived in Jerusalem, so will my wrath be poured out on you when you go to Egypt. You will be an object of cursing and horror, of condemnation and reproach; you will never see this place again.’ "O remnant of Judah, the LORD has told you, ‘DO NOT GO TO EGYPT.’ BE SURE OF THIS: I WARN YOU TODAY!”

But when King Herod is exterminating all the baby boys in Judea it is OK to flee for cover to the friendly Nation of Egypt! The Bible writers make the rules as they go! The preachers know how to dress up the whole Christmas story to make it look good… BTW there is no reliable 3rd party source verifying any of these stories. The massacre of the innocent children follows the same pattern whenever a major event takes place in the primitive Bible stories innocent children are expected to be killed, all the time! So it will be when Jesus Christ returns to Earth! JESUS WILL KILL ALL THE INNOCENT CHILDREN OF THE WRONG CHURCHES! (Rev 2:23). Christians with membership in the “wrong” Churches don’t read the Bible or don’t care to know. They find ways to totally ignore this prophecy or anything written in the Bible that is detrimental to their faith!

Most people who bother to find out do know that Jesus was not born in December. Since we have no real way of knowing when he was born, does it matter what day we celebrate his birthday? I don’t think he minds.

And you are right that the Bible does not state how many wise men visited Jesus. The tradition of 3 men arose because of the 3 gifts, but again, does it matter? It doesn’t make a difference to any of the doctrines of the faith.

The Bible makes no mention of a birthday celebration for Jesus. In fact, his exact birth date is unknown. We can be sure, though, that he was not born on December 25 in the cold of winter in that part of the world. For one thing, Luke recorded that when Jesus was born, “shepherds [were] living out of doors” minding their flocks. (Luke 2:8-11) If “living out of doors” had been their habit year round, that would not have been noteworthy. However, because Bethlehem is subject to cold rains and snow, flocks were wintered under cover and shepherds would not have been “living out of doors.” Additionally, Joseph and Mary went to Bethlehem because Caesar Augustus had ordered a census. (Luke 2:1-7) It is highly unlikely that Caesar would have commanded a people who were resentful of Roman rule to travel to their ancestral cities in the dead of winter.
The roots of Christmas are found, not in Scripture, but in ancient pagan festivals, such as the Roman Saturnalia, a celebration dedicated to Saturn, the god of agriculture. Likewise, according to their reckoning, devotees of the god Mithra celebrated December 25 as the “birthday of the invincible sun,” says the New Catholic Encyclopedia. “Christmas originated at a time when the cult of the sun was particularly strong at Rome,” about three centuries after the death of Christ.
During their celebrations, pagans exchanged gifts and feasted—practices that Christmas preserved. As is also true today, however, much Christmas giving was not in the spirit of 2 Corinthians 9:7, which reads: “Let each one do just as he has resolved in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” True Christians give out of love, their giving is not tied to a date, and they expect no gifts in return. (Luke 14:12-14; Acts 20:35) Moreover, they deeply appreciate being set free from the Christmas frenzy and relieved of the heavy yoke of financial debt that many incur at that time of year.—Matthew 11:28-30; John 8:32.
But, some may argue, did not the astrologers present birthday gifts to Jesus? No. Their gift-giving was simply a way of paying their respects to a person of note, a common custom in Bible times. (1 Kings 10:1, 2, 10, 13; Matthew 2:2, 11) In fact, they did not even come on the night that Jesus was born. Jesus was, not a babe in a manger, but many months old and living in a house when they arrived.

    It’s all about simplicity.

People were told that Jesus was born on Dec. 25th to make it closer to the then pagan holidays. It made it simpler for the common folk to celebrate whatever they wanted to celebrate.

And again simplicity for your second point. Nobody would have been that interested in how many guards traveled with the wise men. After all, their gifts were supposedly more important.

And lastly, most people do know that Jesus was not born on the 25th, but choose to ignore that fact, as it is somewhat unclear when exactly he was, and it’s hard to break with longstanding tradition.

You are absolutely right Jesus most likely was not born in Dec. The important doctrinal statement is that HE WAS BORN, and came to earth to save us. That is what we celebrate. God does not mind the date. Interesting that you should bring up Nimrod. Mythology is trying to make us think that we cannot celebrate our Savior’s birth at the same time. Do you realize that everyday believe to our God? Nimrod, may have been mythologically the sun-god, but Jesus was and always will be the SON OF GOD. We celebrate Christ, and what He did, why does that bother you so much? Ok, there were more than 3 wise men, but how that has come about is because of the 3 gifts. Believe if you choose, or don’t believe if you choose, but give us the same freedom that you expect from us, so that we can COME AND ADORE HIM.

Your first statement needs research. Those cultures that kept time on a lunar calendar would have had moving dates every year. This is why the Muslim season of Ramadan shifts forward year to year.

Also, the pagan Roman festival of ‘Sol Invictus’ was instituted for December 25th in the year 274 a.d. Nimrod, an historical person who was later deified, did not have a feast date.

There is also no reason for Nimrod – a Babylonian king – to be celebrated as a sun deity in every culture.

For your second statement, does it really matter?

Your simple study needs to use resources of some sort other than your low-budget imagination.

    Wise men= Vietnamese

When doctors come to Jerusalem, basing on stature and dress, Jews immediately know that they are oriental people.

Israeli region belongs to the West Pole of Asia (because of confining the immense sea). It is similar when talking about the real Orient.

Regarding about geography, face, and culture, Western Asia and Eastern Asia frontier was standardized by Indian and Chinese Frontier. In Europe, people could call the whole Asia oriental people but Jews are West Asia ones. Therefore, we could not call the areas in this region Orient. In this period, people knew a large number of peoples, countries, and 3 continents. It was not in the stage of Babel Tower, which was supposed all as one people etc…

Face: Western Asia people have big eyes, high nose, and are a little bit higher than Eastern Asia people. The eastern Asia People are vice versa.

The completely oriental countries now are composed of China, Vietnam, Korea because these countries are not blocked by others toward the Orient, bordering the mainland.

In the period of Jesus’ infant-hood, Kinh People in the Orient had the same political circumstance as Jews because the Chinese had conquered our country’s kingdom (An Duong Vuong) before that time and continued the rule during Jesus’ infant-hood. Therefore, Kinh People did not have a King at that time and God showed them the stars of the whole people King granting their people afterwards. Israeli Kingdom hadn’t been named on the world map until the state was founded 2000 years later (in 1948). Is it true that due to the prophecy, Jews refused Jesus? (Romans 11:26)

MAT 2:12 GOD could ask doctors not to retell our people about the worship to Jesus’ infant-hood, similarly to Herod King and didn’t allow looking at stars to tell fortunes according Moses law (Deuteronomy 4: 19, 17: 3,4) while people in China still looked at the stars to tell fortunes. In Tam Quoc period, the opponents looked at stars and knew that Khong Minh had died.

After Kinh people’s doctors had worshiped young king Jesus, Kinh people had a king 1000 years later.

The nation has been continuously independent and dominated 2 more countries (Chiem Thanh & Chan Lap) so far, that is the central coast and the south of Vietnam. In the war, Kinh People defeated some powerful countries to defend the entire territory ( Nguyen Mong, Thanh, France etc… Nowadays, King People has the national language with Latin letter (the letters used to write Bible replacing the Chinese letter) which can write dialects in order to create favorable conditions to print General Bible to everyone. They also call the first day of week Lordday(Sunday). It is different from other countries in the region. At present, Catholicism and Protestantism are 2 big religions ranked the second and the third respectively in Vietnam.

Sentence 11-16: When doctors came to worship Jesus, he was 2 years old, so he no longer lay in the manger and had 2-year-old child’s clothes. His family had a house in Bethlehem.

Sentence 2-7 since doctors only went in the dark (with stars shining), they went slowly. It took them 2 years. Since doctors were Kinh People, they did not introduce about the politics, that is the name of the country (because they did not have). As a result, they only talked about the geography aspect, that is the Orient. Jews then knew peoples, nations belonging to the Western Asia and Eastern Asia even the current south of Vietnam (Ezekiel 39:11, about the oriental sea, flood plains) as well as continents (Esther 8: 9: Isaiah 49: 12: Acts 2:-11)

Isaiah 49:8-13 talked about the secure for many peoples. Among them, Sinim people present themselves before Jesus at the holy region. At Israeli region, at that time, all vehicles from all directions rushed there to expand and develop, which Bible was called the initial way, with the literal meaning “Leveling roads” (Isaiah 40:3). According to the researches about peoples in Bibles, there are some viewpoints supposing that Sinim People inhabits in the south of China, Vietnam. It is accurate about geography and the name of the country now.(Bible Chronlogy of Homera Homer Dixon)

Luke 2:10. As Jesus was the whole people King, doctors were not Western Asia People considered as having close relationship with Jews. Western Asia people could not spend 2 years coming to Israeli region while road transportation were expanded and developed. Nowadays, Western Asia countries in majority follow opposite Islam and Christianity.

As Jesus stayed in Bethlehem for 2 years, he finished the Moses Law (Luke 2: 22-24; Matt 2: 7, 16).

Luke 2: 10, When informing herdsmen, Israeli local people, cherubs directly informed them because Jews are not allowed to look at stars to tell a fortune.

Jeremiah 1:13 called Babylon: the north

In conclusion: Kinh People would come and worship Jesus.

  22. Philip H Says:

Those three "wise men" didn’t arrive at the date of Jesus birth. Read scripture carefully and you will see they first saw the star, then traveled a long way, then went to Herod, Then found Jesus after further searching and when they finally arrived, Jesus was a young child living in a house.
It took Herod almost three years to determine they were not returning with evidence of where Jesus was living so he had to have every male child under the age of three murdered.
The typical Nativity scene is a fiction made up from distortions created from various reports, from different books of the Bible, that didn’t even happen on the same date. There is no way Jesus spent months lying in a temporary bed in a stable.
The "wise men" were astrologers and that was a practice condemned by the Hebrew faith and believed to be influenced by Satan. The star moved before them and directed their journey, so it wasn’t a real star and there is no evidence that anyone else saw that "star". Since the star directed them to the evil Herod to alert him about the birth of Jesus, it is likely the "star" was an apparition created by Satan and intended to bring about the death of Jesus. There is no mention of a star in the account of the night of Jesus birth.
For real Christians, is any of the Christmas pageantry really necessary to maintain faith in Jesus as our Savior and as the Son of God?

  23. noname Says:

The "magi" were not astrologers, they were Medes from Persia. God forbid astrology as abominable. He put a star in the sky and it moved to where Jesus (i.e. Yeshua) was laid. This was not an astrological sign, the star moved as they followed it. It was a miracle of God. The "magi" were most like ethnically Jewish much like Daniel and the 3 Hebrew boys were who stayed in Babylon (Persia). Jesus was most likely born in Spring to most scholars – shepherds do not take their sheep out in December and the date of Christmas is Catholic not Jewish Christianity. The holiday itself is named after Catholic tradition – "Mass, i.e Christ – Mass". Mass is a ceremony commemorate the death of Christ in Catholic tradition. To say "Merry Christmas" is to say "Happy death of Christ". Clearly Yeshua’s apostles nor his first followers celebrated such a thing as no mention of it whatsoever is recorded in the Apostolic writings found in the New Testament. Catholicism is a rip off of paganism with a glitter of so-called Christianity over it. It’s pagan!
