Ciudad de México: “Three Kings Day” (Epiphany) dinner.
Christmas in Mexico lasts 12 days. Presents are opened on January 6, the day the Three Kings are said to have arrived in Bethlehem, bringing gold, frankincense and myrrh to the Christ Child.
This is at the home of my great uncle, Sergio Gómez-Llata, in downtown México City.
We’re eating handmade tamales of various ingredients, my favorite were the tamales de espinacas: Spinach Tamales. Hot Mexican chocolate, and buñuelos, with their special dipping sauce.
When the special cake “Rosca” was served, I got one of the several tiny plastic babies–they told me “Whoever gets the baby, hosts this event next year.” I guess all my Mexican relatives are coming to Cape Cod next Epiphany, then!

Looks like the people of Judah tribe who were too clever and psychic cheats thought that the people of Nazareth were not well educated or clever like them.
